Tony Gwynn -
San Diego Padres
The greatest player in San Diego Padre history, Tony Gwynn won eight batting titles, five Gold Gloves, and helped the inconsistent franchise to their first two World Series appearances, but never got that elusive championship ring. He batted .394 in 1994 and banged out more than 3,000 career hits.
Bound for the Hall of Fame, hometown hero Gwynn sits in the dugout holding his weapon of choice, a Louisville Slugger. Gwynn played his entire Major League career of 19 years (1982 - 2001) with the San Diego Padres. He is depicted here circa. 1993.
